Where Am I?

Post by FlyTexas »

Time for a geography quiz. This lovely Auster Autocrat is parked in front of the airport terminal on a certain island in the Atlantic. Can you name the island? If it'll help, this scenery is freeware and as far as I know this airport is the only one on this island. Now where could it be? *-)

Nice airport terminal Brian.. or should I say, it was probably a nice airport terminal 50 years ago

No idea where you are btw. The terminal is quite distinct so I'm sure someone will recognise it.

The terminal looks suitable for use by Ryanair.

Hmm on the basis you have a 320 mile range you would just make the Canaries from Morroco. Tight though, be running on fumes. So I'm guessing El Hierro airport?
Or are you in the west Atlantic?
Good game this, hangman with airplanes
cheers

No, we're in the eastern Atlantic. You're correct Jim that the Autocrat would be sucking fumes by the time she'd reach this island. The actual airport was closed in 2004 due to persistent dangerous high winds. The only way to get to the island today is by a ferry from a nearby island. (another little hint)

Ah.. well that little clue narrows it down to Esperadinha, Brava, Cape Verde. Never heard of it

Looks nice mate though there's not a great deal to see. Still.. a great deal better than the default and somewhere different to go ;)
