Logitech Freedom 2.4 gz Cordless Joystick

Post by Buggyman »

I am on my third Logitech cordless joystick and enjoy the freedom of movement it gives me, being disabled I can fly from my armchair, my desk chair or anywhere in the room without being tied to a cable. However there is a dark cloud on the horizon as there are no new units being made and my current one is a new/refurbished one found by accident on the Amazon traders pages.

My question is; does anyone know of anyone who can refurbish these joysticks? I'm sure my current one will last a couple of years but it would be great to have the old one ready to go when the crunch comes.

Thanks in advance.

I feel your pain. The selection of joysticks in general has decreased in recent years, Logitech which used to have a pretty good selection of them now only has one (corded) joystick they make. My first idea was to look for wireless USB extenders, but in my five minute search, all the ones I found that might work needed an external power supply which sort of defeats the purpose, but there may be one out there that can work for you.

People seem to take pleasure in maligning Saitek, but I have to report that my X-52 is 11 years old this month and gets almost daily use and seems as good today as the day I bought it. Previously I had an X-45 which functioned well for many years and I only got rid of that when we emigrated. Equally, I am now on year 3 of using Saiteks ProFlight panels without issue (except I don't use their software). Logitech! Don't get me started...... YABOO SUX  .
