Re: Search function not working???
Might depend on what you're searching for, Mr/Ms Chad!
I usually get a bunch of suggestions when I put in a search.
I just tried "naked ladies", just for a laugh, fully expecting zero found, but it gave me 9 matches.
EDIT: Conclusion: It works.

I wonder if it's an issue with chrome then. No matter what words or terms I put in the search box, I get zero results. Very odd.

If you can give us an example we can try in other browsers for you.

Re: Search function not working???
Try doing a search for hs-438. I get no results despite there being a plethora of topics on it. Even a simple search of 748 yields no results. P3D zero results. However... P3Dv brings up numerous matches. The algorithm in the search engine doesn't seem to be working correctly.
Re: Search function not working???
Search for "HS*438". The minus sign means HS without 438. The asterisk means any character(s) between HS and 438:

Hmm, it also fround HS748

This doesn't explain why searching p3d yields nothing, but p3dv does. Also, simply typing 748 yields nothing. Does the query need to be at least 4 characters?
Re: Search function not working???
You can't search on just number. I typed in HS748 (it rarely had the hyphen) and got 1100+ hits.
Your absolutely correct on the 3 characters though, to index to 3 characters would be a significant overhead on performance, so 4 is the minimum if memory serves.

Glad to see Mike has his finger on the pulse (?) of the mindset of forum participants, even those of us of an age when finding naked ladies - or remembering to even look for them - is any guarantee of anything working........
