Northern Bases For Lancasters?

Post by Aharon »

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

Would any of you know if there are any bases in northern Scotland that Lancasters operated from, please and the bases must exist in FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 unless there is freeware RAF base scenery for Lancasters in northern Scotland?

Also, did Lancasters ever operate in Canadian liveries with Canadian markings during World War 2?

Regards,

Aharon

Not sure about Scottish bases for Lancasters - if there were any major ones, it's news to me. They were mostly in the eastern side of England - Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and a few in Cambridgeshire.

Canadian markings ? No, all Commonwealth units in the RAF in Britain wore the standard RAF roundels. Sometimes a small national flag would be painted somewhere on the aircraft, as with the Polish fighter squadrons, but that's all.

Depends what you mean by 'operated from'. They weren't based there but Lancasters of Nos 9 and 617 squadrons operated from Lossiemouth during their raids on the Tirpitz in 1944.
