According to sites such as Wikipedia and bac1-11jet.co.uk,
"the Series 300 offered longer range by virtue of an additional center section fuel tank and a higher maximum take-off weight."
However all the BAC 1-11 aircraft files have the same fuel capacities (wondering if a larger fuel tank was an extra)
I'm confused because I want to fly a bog-standard -200 series and tweak the fuel capacities.
Did the -200 have a centre tank at all, or just a smaller capacity?
I'll have to check Shaun but I think all 1-11's ran a centre tank with the exception of the 200Srs where it was offered as an option. Further options included a choice of either an additional 350imp gall or 700imp gall tank. These tanks were fitted in the rear of the fwd underfloor hold where taken

Thanks
And did you mean additional 350/700Gals with the already existing 850Gals centre tanks of the 300-500Srs???
The 850gall centre tank was standard on all versions except the 200. Additional 'extra' tankage of either 350gall or 700gall could be added but I honestly couldn't say how many took this option. So.. standard tankage of 2235gall in the wings (all versions) and 850gall in the centre tank (except the 200). If DM modelled an 850gall centre tank on the 200.. then you can take it as the operator ordered it

Ah thanks I've removed the centre tank from the 200, but fully loaded I still get about 800nm range after climbing to FL300.
An extra 700 imperial gallons is like 5040lbs of extra fuel right? That would add a lot of range, and on FSPassengers I have an average consumption of 4500-5000lbs/h so that's an extra hour flying and about 400nm-ish? I'll have to test this...
Well.. that's the beauty of it.. on the 200 at least. Having the centre tank fitted isn't unrealistic so you could simply not use it. I'd have to dig out all the stuff I have on the 1-11 to see if you'd gain additional cargo space but my gut feeling is.. you probably wouldn't. Having the additional tanks fitted is a different matter as freight space would be lost but as these aren't modelled.. I wouldn't worry about it
I may be wrong.. it's been a while.. but I don't think the 1-11 was designed to carry max fuel and max pax/cargo as this would have exceeded the MTOW (unlike the 146 which was) so every flight could be a compromise in one area or another. If you keep the centre tank for additional range.. you carry less pax and cargo but charge more per ticket to offset the cost

You're right; it can't; on fspassengers you gain reputation quickly so I put the ticket prices up. 30 pax, 1200lbs of cargo (luggage @ 40lbs/pax), 2 full wing tanks and 80% in centre gives me 90% MTOW in the 200srs. Still it's enough to get from Newcastle to Split with 45 minutes reserve.
