Hello :)

Post by Shaun »

Hi I'm Shaun and I'm from Newcastle (co-incidently your registration required me to name an engine named after my river haha!)

I'm 20 and I've been flying on FS since 2004's release in late 2003. I've had FSX since its release. I've flow Rick Piper's 748 for a few years, obtaining it from Flightsim.com I think... Therefore I had no idea this site existed. Upon discovery of this site I've made my step from the 748 to the 1-11 200.

I'm a user of FS Passengers but my most recent plans are to make an airline dedicated to the use of classic British aircraft :)

I have a question however.
I've noticed operating 748s and the latest 1-11s sometimes had upgraded/replaced avionics which hence gave me the idea to play with the panels and add my own gauges. I'm developing a Rockwell Collins upgrade for the 1-11. Would there be any issues with posting the upgraded gauges/panels here on the forum?

Hi Shaun and welcome :)

I don't think there'd be a problem posting screenshots of your work here. There could be a couple of issues should you wish to upload modified panels and gauges. Copyright of the originals remains that of the authors so permission to upload modified versions would have to be authorised from them. Secondly.. it often happens that 'modified' things appear online.. some of which either don't work or don't work as prescribed and without additional readme files, the original authors end up with inbox's full of emails complaining about something they had no part in so.. if you're able to overcome the first issue, it must be backed up by 'proper' instructions in an additional readme.

What you do in the privacy of your own home is another matter as are things passed privately :)

When I first saw "748" I was thinking "Now that's some news, I didn't know Rick modeled any Boeing 747-8"
