EFIS V2.5 and FS9

Post by cstorey »

Now I know I'm behind the times , but I thought I would resuscitate Chris Brett's excellent FMC program from 1997 and try it in FS9. It does load into FS9, but all 3 screens ( Control Panel , FMC , and EFIS screen ) "hide" behind the instrument panel in any aircraft and flash on and off at about 3 times per second , and if you move the panel upwards you can see this happening . If you undock EFIS using the EFIS menu, the FMC and EFIS screens appear , but the Control Panel still hides away and flashes. It can just about be seen if you again move the panel out of the way

Any thoughts on what I could do to achieve full functionality please ?

Sorry Chris.. I'd love to say something useful but it's been so long since I used EFIS, I can barely remember what it looks like. Having sat on a shelf gathering dust for many years.. it finally went in the skip when I moved to the Midlands. I don't think I ever tried it in FS9 :-O

Ah well, thanks anyway . It is a splendid creation, with the ability to choose SIDs and STARs at any stage and insert them into an already created plan, and with both LNAV and VNAV facilities which work provided you don't let the speeds runaway if a sharp turn is called for
