Remember Gunship! ?

Post by J0hn »

It's now up on Steam (modernised slightly to run on current PCs and large monitors without issue) for just under a fiver!

I used to love this game, it was as close as I could get to the Cold War turning hot, since leaving the forces. It just had something extra!

Not really simulation - more arcadish, but great fun, nevertheless!

Yes, I bought it and gave it a quick go - runs very well (old graphics engine accepted) and I can't wait to find a couple of hours free time to get stuck in! :agree:

Yes.. I remember Gunship. Was it just Gunship or was it Gunship2000? For that matter, were there TWO.. Gunship AND Gunship2000?? *-) I remember one of em anyway. It ran okey dokey on my intel 25SX and better still on my Pentium 50

Looks like fun. I never had Gunship but I do remember spending many hours playing 'Apache Longbow' on my old DOS box, in fact I carried it through win 95, 98 and Win2K IIRC.

I remember Gunship very well. In fact I think I've still got it somewhere in the loft. I wonder if they'll release Microprose's M1Tank Platoon too ?

I kept all this stuff until we moved to the Midlands 2 years ago. It was always going to be impossible to bring the rubbish I'd lugged around with me for years so the lot ended up in our huge bins and a skip we hired before we left the pub. I was sad to see it all go but there was no other option :(

I wish someone would do the same for Janes F15. Unfortunately it uses the 3DFX engine which is history.
IMHO one of the best fighter combat games out there.
