Hi It's me again,
I have been looking for a new monitor and see this msec responce time can be 1/2/5/7 ms according to the monitor, now for playing games such as Call of Duty etc i understand a 1ms monitor is best but for flight simming would a 5ms make any difference,
The reason i would like to know is i have seen a 27in monitor at 5ms and virtually the same one at 1ms and the price is about £45 the difference,
I have not had a LCD monitor as i'm still using my 14yr old CRT,
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Roger.

Re: Help
Hi Roger
To be brutally honest.. I doubt very much if you'd notice the difference. Obviously, a 1ms monitor is better (faster) than a higher number but we're talking milliseconds here. I'm currently sitting in front of an old Xerox 5ms TFT and it runs FS perfectly well. What you want to ask yourself is could you honestly tell the difference between a 1ms monitor and a 5ms monitor or the difference between a 5ms and 7ms monitor?? If the £45 doesn't matter, then go for the quickest as it's always good policy to go for the best you can afford but without seeing either monitor in action (and who does.. we're all in the same boat).. the 5ms monitor may have a better quality picture. You just don't know at the end of the day
Sri I can't give anything more concrete but as I say.. I have 3 monitors and they're all 5ms (I think). The only difference I see is the difference in colours and definition. They're all different makes so that's hardly surprising

Re: Help
Hello Dave,
Thanks for help,
At least it has explained this msec, and as you say i would not be able to tell the difference anyway,
Cheers,
Roger.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
