Those who think the goat is just a joke might be interested to know that in the 1950s my Father was a fairly regular passenger from Moscow to Archangelsk, and it was not at all unusual to find animals wandering up and down the aisle . What it did to the elevator trim I shudder to think - I think these aircraft were probably Li-2 ( DC3 clone ) , and it was only with the introduction of the Tu 104 that the practice ceased !
