Flying gig by Messrs Rolls & Royce

Post by J0hn »

Today I was disturbed during my afternoon tea by a couple of low flying hooligans - firstly, this chap had the audacity to land in a field about 200m away:

and then I got a front row seat to Messrs Rolls & Royce, performing one of my favourite tunes - "Merlin by Fours"

We actually got 6 (yes, SIX!) encores, as he went back and forth, seeming testing his engines (quiet as a mouse vs full power) and undercarriage - we got a bit worried on his second return pass, though:

yes, those are the bomb doors open :worried:

But the only thing falling was my heart rate, as he disappeared off towards Coningsby... :(

What a treat!
I'm still kicking myself for sitting indoors whilst a "DC3" cruised about over our town for 15 minutes.
Later on, a neighbour said "You'd have been excited to watch that Catalina this morning." :wall:

Mike, if it's rumbly, run out and rook - errm look - you never know what it might be.
I missed out on the Zuccoli Collection Fiat, from not paying attention. :(

I would stay indoors today Mike. It looks like a storm is approaching.

Hi Mike,
Good advice, Mate.
BTW - I was within a metre of that Fiat at Avalon some years back. Have a close up photo of the nose area in my album.

George, What's a storm? :dunno:

No worries, George, the cyclone is a long way from here, but we might get some rain from it next week.
