Just a HU, I used to have Nvidia Driver 306.97 as it gave reasonable performance until I got Capt Sim 737-200 and ORbX England then I had to cut down my sliders a bit. Downloaded and tried Nvidia release 314.07 and that did nothing for me so took a chance and went for the Beta release 314.21.
I found that this driver improved FSX markedly for me - better fps and can run the Rapid over London with sliders right over. At Southampton airport with Capt Sim my frame rates increased along with sliders, before my fps used to drop down to 8 - 9 in certain places at Southampton. Have not really tweaked the driver or even set up Nvidia Inspector yet.
Forget Heathrow, that is still a no no as far as fps goes.
I only have ORBX England and Capt Sim payware installed with no add-ons such as airports or even REX which will no doubt hurt a bit.
My setup is GTX 500 i3 4Gb RAM on-board sound card so basically only a mid range computer.
Off for the week-end but will be interesting to see if any-one else finds an improvement as I have done
Kind regards
Nigel

Re: Nvidia 500 Users!!
Nigel, Thanks I will try the latest driver then - I'm still on 301.42, although my frame rates aren't too bad - it just takes ages to load the JF VFR scenery.

Re: Nvidia 500 Users!!
Latest is 314.22 (For Win7 64).
Tried them but seemed to run slower on my system. Rolled back.
I might try again after some tweaks.
So many variables so hard to tell what happened.

Re: Nvidia 500 Users!!
The 314.22 drivers are also available for the M series (laptop) cards now. So I've just updated my GTX675M card. There's a small but definite improvement in graphics and fps (5-10%).
One thing I noticed with my last update was that the driver installation changes some of the settings in nVidia Inspector. So that was the first thing I checked this time and sure enough some of the settings had changed. So I set everything back to exactly as per Kosta's guide and got the improvement.
I don't know if you use NI, Ted, but if you do and you haven't checked it, that may be the cause of your slowdown.

Re: Nvidia 500 Users!!
My update tool kept clogging up "unexpected finish" or some rot. So I downloaded 314.22, and it installed OK.
The blurb actually says that it helps certain applications but not all. I'll check out FSX tomorrow. 00:28 here, and my shorts-clad knees are getting cool/cold.
