Photobucket, from good to rubbish in one upgrade!
Is it me or has Photobucket gone from a handy photo store to a jumbled collection of programmer ideas with no usability what so ever?
I hate it. I create a folder and it prompts me twice to create? Then it shows me images not related to the folder I just created?
I have to load each image to view it's link. It doesn't work in IE8 (okay, what does really) but, but, but, I hate it!
The old site was simple and easy to use. Now it's glossy and rubbish.

Never used it to be honest, but I think I heard someone make similar comments recently (George maybe?) I like Skydrive as its really easy to use, but its not searchable easily by the public (which is why I use it) But Flickr maybe a better option?
Ben.

No, DTR its not just you - I agree 100% and so does the majority of Photobucket users, by the look of it. That said, in order to show links next to the album thumbnail; click on your user name ( upper right ) select User Settings, then Albums, and you can tick all the links you want to see. I myself have a separate problem with it; I can no longer upload a 1300-pixel wide image without it automatically resizing down to 1024 pixels wide. The ones I uploaded before the 'improvement' are still 1300 wide, and display in that size when linked to in a forum...but anything new is 1024, like it or not.DogTailRed2 wrote:Is it me or has Photobucket gone from a handy photo store to a jumbled collection of programmer ideas with no usability what so ever?

Compared to the previous format's simplicity of use, Photobucket's new interface / functionality is a classic case of fixing what wasn't broken.

George, do you not find Imageshack very slow ? I was once asked by a forum admin to stop using Imageshack because of the length of time it took to show linked images. Thats why I moved to Photobucket.GHD wrote:I have always used ImageShack.

Since the upgrade I've been using the old version but time is running out
I did reply to their request for comment and I told them what I thought.
The recently sent me an email probably automatic, thanking me for my comments and suggestions which they have found useful for the upgrade
I replied asking how that can be when my only comments were that it was terrible and requested it was put back as it was.
I am getting so fed up with things being changed for the sake of it
If they work then leave alone

I have been using PostImage for a while now, and it does what i want, although a slideshow facility would be nice. You can upload forum sizes or full-screen, and there are various link types provided. A gallery opens as thumbnails, clicking a thumbnail gives you a viewable size pic, and if the upload was a larger size there is a menu below the viewable pic to click through to the full-size one. Handy for folk on limited bandwidth allowances.

I'm glad for the suggestions for other sites.
I have found p-bucket more confusing each time I visit.
Time for a change, methinks.
