Druine D31 Turbulent for FSX/P3D

Post by FlyTexas »

If you've ever dreamed of flying low and slow over the French countryside in a French homebuilt aircraft (many of you have I'm sure ;) ) then this is for you. The Druine D31 Turbulent. A nice little aircraft, imho, available here. http://frenchvfr.free.fr/download.php?lng=en&pg=79

Brian
edit - The yellow lever on the lower right portion of the panel toggles the GPS on and off.

Are you sure it's French Brian? A lever so big to turn the GPS on and off must have been designed by the MoD

A cheeky little model which'd probably make a good RC too! Tks for the HU ;) I think I'll bag one and have a looksee.. low and slow is all I ever do these days and that includes walking!

Yes indeed.. the first thing I did was hit the yellow button to see where I was going! Delightful little model. Must get rid of the French reg though. I had crofters thinking they'd been invaded when flying over The Highlands and Islands in it

Peter Watkins did some UK repaints for the 2004 model over at Britsim. I wonder if they'll work on this model which, as far as I know, IS the FS9 model.. tweaked a little maybe and given dds textures *-)

I tried it but it didn't work. :( I noticed that the FS2004 texture folder contains 33 files while the FSX texture folder contains 58 files. Aw well. New repaints should be easy with this bird. :)

Thanks for taking a look Brian. I looked in the FSX/P3D version and saw the texture folder was mighty full for something so small and left it at that. Fingers crossed Pete Watkins will revamp em for FSX/P3D ;)

Looks like our French Turbulent pilot like nearly everyone else has dropped the usual panel mounted GPS and gone for the Ipad based SkyDemon. What a wonderful piece of kit that is. Tried it once myself in a Bonanza from Compton Abbas to Bodmin and seriously thinking of purchasing it myself. Not sure how can get it into the Auster as its normally 'map and thumb' navigation in the old girl. Think she would have a fit if she saw me with an Ipad under my arm!!!

That's a great looking bit of software Martin. I can imagine the Auster failing to be impressed though
