Hamble in GenXv3

Post by DaveB »

Hi Chaps :)

While bringing my latest FSX install up to date, I added Trev's Thorney Island and Hamble to the South Coast this morning. Thorney is fine but Hamble looks like this..

Image

It's not 100% clear from that shot but you can see the row of trees to the left are sat in a gully as is the 'base' interior of the airfield. The road at the far end is still at the same height and the same lorry sits there but parts not sitting on the AF file are now sunken so buildings, taxiways, runway remain correct but everything else is a few feet lower in GenXv3. Didn't see this in v2 so I suspect a terrain change in v3. Anyone else seeing this with Hamble or do I have something missing? *-)

The airport elevation doesn't match the flatten or you are missing the flatten completely.

Was this scenery for FS9?

I hadn't added Hamble, but I'll give it a try now...

The flattens are rather crude but it works fine here:

Hi Dave,

I get something a bit different (but still wrong) The runway is suspended several feet above the ground.

Do either of you have another version of Hamble in an active scenery area?

Hi Ben,

I can't match your pic, this is what I see at about that position (I think)

Have you tried looking in Map view and zooming-in? Are there two ICAO codes close together?

Sri.. had dinner then dozed off watching Force10 From Navarone

Ben.. as I said in my first post.. I see the runway and associated bits at the same level but the other bits are a few feet below. The runway is clear and does appear to float if you move either left or right. All the bits I want should be there as I simply dragged it from the old install into the new one.

George.. you probably know now but this was only made for FSX and to match GenX (v1 I think.. perhaps v2 but that might be stretching it a bit). I'll check and see if I have all those files in my scenery folder.

EDIT: Yes.. all the main files are there. The only ones I don't have active are the extras which I'd yet to add :)
