Captain Sim 24-hour sale 14th December
Saw this on the Avsim forum:
"24 hrs only. Everything is 9.99! We are pleased to announce that exclusively at Captain Sim online store, from 00:00 to 23:59 14DEC2012 (UTC) everything is Euro 9.99!
Important: 24 hours only. At 23:59 14DEC2011(UTC) all prices are back to regular.
If traffic exceeds our expectations some of our servers slowdown/outage is possible during the sale event."

I've got their 727 and C-130, so I'm thinking about maybe the B-52 or the B707 + Cargo expansion. I'm also thinking about not bothering with it. Decisions decisions.

Hi Paul. I've got all their FSX aircraft except the 777 so why don't you let me make the decision for you and help you spend your money?Paul K wrote:I've got their 727 and C-130, so I'm thinking about maybe the B-52 or the B707 + Cargo expansion. The 737-200 is easily the best and most enjoyable to fly so you really should spend €9.99 on that

1. 737-200 base pack
2. 707-300 base pack
3. 707-300C cargo expansion pack (for the BOAC freighter)
The above are compulsory, the below are optional

4. 737-200C/F cargo expansion pack
5. 737-200 ADV expansion pack
6. B52 (good model but a bit of a handful to fly and limited destinations)
They all install and fly fine in P3D with the Estonian tool

You're welcome

Ian

I'll have two bags of sand please Ian
I see no mention of their 727 and 757 there mate. Were they ever upgraded to FSX spec
I only have the C130 for FSX but have the C130, 707+Cargo, 757 and Mig21 for FS9. I think the Mig stayed put in FS9.. it was incredibly old when I got it. The 707 was a lovely looking model.. a tad heavy on frames and with it's 'Real as it gets' custom coding meant that none of the 'standard' FS navigation programs worked with the AP so to get it from A to B required you to fly it there (only 2 of the 3 AP channels are recognised).
The 727.. I went for the Flight1/Dreamfleet model and rarely flew it.
The 757.. This managed to reduce my FS9 install to a shuddering wreck
Never tried the 737 but seeing Ian's shots.. it looks very nice
Have fun choosing what to buy. You will HAVE to buy something now.. Ian has deemed it so

Don't be tempted by the 757 its beautiful as long as you want to leave it sitting in one place and look at it from one angle, try and actually fly it or look at it on the move and your sim will grind to a halt. If your after a 757 then I can whole heartedly recommend the Quality Wings model.

Ben.

Yes indeed.. I forgot to offer that as an alternative. I don't have it but I remember Techy saying how good it was AND that it ran well on his pc.. before he blew it up

Yes they were but Paul already has the 727 and the 757 is a dog, as Ben saysDaveB wrote:I see no mention of their 727 and 757 there mate. Were they ever upgraded to FSX spec![]()

I love that little fluff jet, though. It's one of those aircraft that is easy to handle, flies the way you expect it to and doesn't have any annoyances. It also has a classic knobs and dials panel and a simple AP up on top in the middle where it's easy to get to. The outside view is more controversial, as we know! It gives me the same satisfying simming experience that I get with Rick's 748 and DM's 1-11!
The 727 is nearly there but the trim is too coarse and the AP is hard to get to in the VC so it annoys me a bit

Are we definitely agreed that the 737-200 is the one to go for?

Yeah, Dave's fault!PaulC wrote:Thanks Dave,

Only thing I'd add is that you should get it early. Then when you've given it a try there's plenty of time to get the expansion packs. There's the 737-200 Adv, the 737-200 C/F, and the 737-100 - which you may or may not need. Oh, and have you got one of these, yet?

I'm not recommending anything. Just saying what I like

Ian
