Captain Sim Hercules

Post by Scorpius »

Bought the above for FS9 and now that I now how to start it I am very disappointed in the sound set that came with it. Anyone know of one that actually sounds like a C-130? (I have tried the Electra but it is wrong).

Don't mind if I have to pay for it.

For FS9...http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_i ... ts_id=1236

For FSX ( the version I have )..http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_i ... ts_id=1220

Or alternatively, for both FS9 and FSX...http://secure.simmarket.com/synchro-sof ... dset.phtml

I can't give you a detailed comparison because I don't have the CS Herc installed at present, but I remember the Turboprop Simulations set was a vast improvement in FSX, so I daresay the same is true in FS9

Nev..

I think you'll find the soundfile for the FSX version is the same as the FS9 version but it sounds worse in FSX so enjoy what you have in FS9  I have both.. hang on, let me have a look. OK.. the FS9 version is 36 soundfiles coming in at 18.2mb. The FSX version is 28 files coming in at 1.8mb (surely shome mishtake). No wonder it sounds worse in FSX 8)

Cheers Paul

Will give the Turboprop simulations a try, saw a video on youtube for it but the person who uploaded it added some music to it as well. :dunno: :wall:

Well I tried the download from Turboprop Simulations.

No cockpit wind noise

No tyre screech on landing

Internal sounds at idle phase in and out

Flaps too loud

Not enough prop noise in the cockpit

Internal taxi sound wrong

Think I will have a tinker at it.

Hmmm...I shall have to reinstall it and see if I have the same problems, Nev, though mine is the FSX version and as far as I recall, it worked fine.

Hi Nev,I know exactly what you mean re the Herc sound files.I bought it but never use it because of that.It p*sses me off when you pay for something and the feel let down.I won't bother looking for better sounds-I just won't use the Herc. :agree: EricT
