My new laptop ...

Post by speedbird591 »

... has been dispatched :-O Whoah! I'm not ready yet! I only ordered it from PC Specialist on Sunday afternoon. I hope they've been careful :worried:

Obviously it's not as powerful as a desktop in gaming terms but it should cope with my flight simming requirements for a couple of months before becoming obsolete. The plan is to load FSX as a stable storage place for add-ons but use P3D as the main flight sim. As P3D will be continually under development and with v1.4 and v2.0 already on the horizon, I'll probably only have a couple of aircraft and REX on board and link to FTX scenery within FSX to keep it all simple. Ready for regular re-installs.

The laptop has a 17.3" full HD LED screen. Processor is an i7-3720QM 2.60Ghz with 8Gb RAM and a 2Gb GTX675M DDR5 DX11 wossname. The OS will be on a 120Gb SSD and the flight sims will be on a 750Gb Hybrid drive.

I dunno what it all means but Ben does and he says it should work OK

Wait! Is that a courier van ...?

Ian :)

Can it do the washing up Ian? All this hi tech talk reminds me that I'll shortly have to shovel more coal into my pc's boiler! :) EricT

What's washing up? :dunno: (Must be a Scottish thing - like messages *-) )

I'm pretty sure it can dispense single shot espressos.

Hmmmm *-) I've been following your adventures on this subject, Joe, and it's wearing me out

Can't you see the poor thing wants to die? If it was a dog you'd shoot it  How many irreplaceable, precious hours of your life have you spent giving it the kiss of life? Couldn't you just bury it and spend a quiet moment of reflection on its past glories over a glass of ale and a pizza pie?

I should have been a lifestyle consultant. I know I can help so many people :bandit:

Just had a text from the courier to say that 'my parcel' will arrive today between 1317 and 1417. I'm a bit pissed off, actually, as I was planning lunch between 1349 and 1357. Now I'm going to have to replan my whole day 8)

It's amazingly quick service to order a custom-built laptop on Sunday and receive it on Friday. Unfortunately I'm working late today and again tomorrow and then MotoGP from Indianapolis on Sunday. I wasn't planning for this until next week

I won't complain, though B-)

Lunching between 1349 and 1357 is a bit vague mate. Couldn't you be a bit more precise?
