Magazine recommendation

Post by Paul K »

Aeroplane magazine has just released another of its occasional specials, entitled Great British Flying-boats. Bought it today in W H Smith, and it really is a good read. I'm no expert on British flying boats, but I find the cut-away drawings absolutely fascinating- more so that any other type of aircraft because these things had upstairs and downstairs, galleys, clerk's offices, smoking rooms and so on. It really is worth getting for these great drawings; for example, the proposed civilian version of the Short Shetland . Other aircraft covered include the Shorts C, G and Mayo Composite and Sunderland, Saro's Princess, Sandringham, A.33, Solent and Lerwick, Blackburn's B-20 and Sydney, plus quite a few more.

Here's a link, so you know what to look out for in W H Smiths, or where ever you go. ( Does John Menzies still exist ? )

Wasn't familiar with this term so I checked various meanings on the web. Many of them are things I can't do since my surgery. Others, well, I wouldn't want them done to me as I'm not into cocaine, or sponging off folks.
So that I can sleep again, Mr Basys, would you elaborate for me please? :worried: :worried: :worried:
Cheers, Mike.

Hoover'ed - An ill thought out marketing promotion
which rewarded purchase of a £100 Hoover product
with two free return flights to Florida.
It ended up costing the company £48m.

We had an Australian Prime Minister, eventually Sir Robert Menzies, known as "Pig Iron Bob" for selling metal to the Japanese about the time of a kerfuffle dating back to the 1940s.
I don't think he sold from a shop, but does he still count?
