Concorde! Washington to London.

Post by nigelb »

This caught my eye because it is a flight from near where I live now to where I used to live. I looked for my house on take-off but couldn't quite spot it. From 7 March 1993, this video was taken by a passenger with a Sony Hi8 camera. He was invited into the cockpit by the pilot, who was fascinated by the camera! This vide lasts 9:41, the flight lasted 3 hours and 12 minutes.

Apologies if it has been posted before.

Nice video. :) Used to love watching Concorde fly overhead during the short period of time she flew into DFW Airport.

Before we moved to the other side of Herndon, I used to get on the roof of my house and watch the Concorde come in to land at KIAD. Too many trees where I live now to have seen it when she was flying in.

In case your interested here is the return journey to home to Dulles. "Home"? Well, London will always be home to me! :agree:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzNULXEhuy8 Not quite as exciting as the journey to London. There are no cockpit views but the sunset at the very end is exquisite. Since this was on 15 March 1993, The Great Blizzard of 1993 "Storm of the Century" had hit us a few days prior, leaving 14.1 inches of snow at Dulles. (36cm)
