Yoohoo Uhu - Rare German nigthfighter raised from the sea

Post by DarrenL »

Off the Danish coast a rare German Heinkel He 219 Uhu has been lifted yesterday - http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/m ... g+a+He+219

Only one fuselage exists at the Smithsonian's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Centre.

This new one will need a bit of clean.

It will be interesting to see just how far they can go with this. When I visited Judy Pay's workshop, (couple of shots at Airspeed's Flying Visit), the restorers showed me some before and after undercarriage parts. They had transformed an almost unrecognisable lump into a factory fresh looking item. It was incredible.
Cheers, Mike.
