A2A B-17 screenie

Post by speedbird591 »

Trying to watch WSB from Donington but the memsahib's pulled seniority with the Sky box :dunno:

Nothing for it but a bit of flying to fill the time and when I landed the light was quite pretty so I took a picture.

I'm enjoying it very much, Paul. It's a lovely model and requires a very different approach to the big jets I'm used to flying. It takes quite a bit of nursing to get it up to cruising altitude and speed but then it's very relaxing to fly and land.

It fits very nicely into my (intentionally) restricted stable of excellent quality FSX models. Two big props: A2A B-17 and CS C-130, two big jets: CS 707 and CS 727 and two fighters: A2A Spitfire and DG's Hunter. (DM's jets are in storage due to a crap onboard sound card on my laptop causing distortion - pending the purchase of a dedicated FSX desktop! )

I wish I could be 100% sure about the A2A B-17. Its an aircraft I'd love to have as vintage multi-props are exactly the sort of aircraft I enjoy, but I have issues with the external model which , though minor, are enough to catch the eye and irritate it. How I wish they would do the Superfortress , but I am told its on the 'maybe one day' list.

In the meantime, their Stratocruiser is a fascinating beast, very absorbing.
