"Oh Calamity!" Was the exclamation often uttered by an actor called Robson Hare in comical films.
This afternoon I had just such an experience. I misunderstood a perfectly clearly written set of instructions and lost my AI traffic file (not backed up - oh dear). Three years of AI traffic work gone. This is not a a great disaster but to replace some of it would take a great deal of tedious work and time.
Can anyone please tell me how I could put my system back to the state it was in at 09:00hrs this morning?
MY Ttools had gone awry and I could not persuade that program to accept new acft so changed to AIFPv2.1.14. It is in learning how to use that program that I made my error! Nothing wrong with AIFPv2 just, as usual my 'kak-handedness'!

I don't think system state will do it as this only looks at system folders by default... I think you might be stuffed old chap

Hi Hobby,
Sad news indeed. Having done the same thing I feel your pain.
I take it you haven't got the decompiled source .txt files hanging around somewhere ? Checked the recycle bin?
Not much help but can't think what else to suggest, sorry
Rgds,
Colin

Love the new Sig pic Colin!
The only thing I can suggest trying is one of the undelete programes? I used one some years ago, but there is no guarentee it will work, esppecially if the drive is low on space. But might be worth a try...
Another suggestion with any flight planning tools, never let them write into your FS folders, get them to save to a "Flightplans" folder in your my documents folder, or something similar, and then manually copy over the ones you want to FS, that way the flight planning tool can overwrite anything in your production FS (If that makes sense)
Just did a quick search and these twoo have come up. I haven't used either, but both look like they will do what your after, and the first one will let you see the files before you pay for the license, so if you cant find the files with the tool, you don't pay for it.

[UPDATE]
This looks like the new version of the one I used, and it seems to be free for files under 1GB in size....

I suggest you try System Restore and choose a time prior to your disaster...Give it an enormous amount of time to work and do NOT interupt it. You may be surprised at the result. If it fails then you can reverse it if you wish. I have had great success with System Restore but many people just give up and assume it is not working and interupt it...Don't make that mistake. Just go away and have tea or coffee or a beer but let it finish its job

Re: Oh Calamity!! FS9 AI
Thanks to everyone!
I have had a really bad day today.
1) Decorator agreed to carry out work for us and came v. highly recommended - as is usual he has also over-committed himself and rang to say "no go today, be with you on Monday am". Work which should have taken less than week is now being done in bits and pieces and seems everlasting. On the positive side his work is very thorough.
2) Losing my AI traffic!
Just been for a 60min Xcntry in DG's Lanc with ASv6.5 & FS Nav. Really bucks one up when one's airfield appears right on the nose at the end of the flight.
Tomorrow morning I shall try 'System Restore', starting prior to household chores, and just let it run returning after chores completed.
