I understand that entering that line into the FSX.cfg file will speed up the initial load time as without it FSX pre-loads up a lot of scenery and things that it "thinks" you might be using.
I have seen it mentioned in two different places in the cfg and wondered what the proper place for it is. I will test it tomorrow but I always find that loading FSX up first time takes a while and then restarting is much quicker anyway so a change or cfg file might not give a true representation without rebooting the PC.
The locations I have seen it mentioned as going are in the MAIN and STARTUP sections as below.
[MAIN]
Location=640,452,1664,1220,\\.\DISPLAY1
DisablePreload=1
{after the Location line}
[STARTUP]
DisablePreload=1
DEMO=0
SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN=1
{At the top of the section}
Does anyone have this line in and know that it does speed up the initial startup loading times and say where they have it please, even if it's somewhere else?
DisablePreload=1
