Wrong Airport Apologies

Post by Globitz »

Hi All,

For some reason I have just flown flight CNB5022 EGLL - EDDL but seem to have ended up at EDDF and did not realise my mistake until I got dinged.

I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the hit on the Airlines reputation and will do my best to get some rep' improving flights in over the next few days.

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy...

No sweat mate and thanks for letting me know. I've been a bit tied up with the Grimnod for the past couple of days so haven't had time to keep my finger on the pulse.

Be sure that no one here feels as bad about it as you do.. when the realisation sinks in :( I did it myself some months ago in the FSX Islander. I'd just bought GenX Islands and Highlands and was admiring the new scenery in the new model. Popped down and landed at Barra and forgot completely I was on a VA flight bound for Tiree :wall: I could have thrown myself out of the window when it said 'landed at wrong airport'. WTF was it talking about.. then I remembered. D'oh!

Let me know if you need a flight out arranging ;)

Thanks mate,

Thanks for the offer of a way out however, I will fly CNB5026 to Dubia (OMDB) and then CNB5027 back to Heathrow (assuming that the runways are open! and to think they wanted to knock my house down to build another  ).

I will then carry on with my other planned flights and go to Tehran at a later date.

Cheers

Andy

P.S. I know what you mean about the moment you hear the ding, until i looked I didn't imagine that was why! Oh well, I'm big and ugly enough to take it on the chin.
Cheers

Think I may have given the VA a hit recently because of non=op flights. Had BHX to LHR booked, first attempt I had a lock up on short finals to LHR... no prob, I'll just fly it tomorrow night when I get home from work....no, I get home and SWMBO tells me that we're off to friends for dinner in half an hour, get to the bathromm and don't forget to wash behind your ears...get home late that evening and had to rebook the flight, got to LHR sometime after midnight (real world) and realised I'd forgot to start the client prior to departure    ...finally got there on the third night of trying :cpu:

RW pilots don't suffer this rubbish do they! I've NOT opened the client once and it wasn't a 30min flight either. No one was more surprised than me when I reduced the sim and found nothing there to close  Dunno what the hell I was thinking about.. too many things I guess which shorted out my 2 working brain cells :wall: I have visitors today too so I'm not sure about getting any flying done. I'm only at JER so I'll get the sheets off one of the Rapides I think and have a poodle around the CI.. which is where I 'holiday' every Christmas anyway.. on the VA that is ;)

Yep, I managed to do that once as well, it was either a Super 10 or a comet longhaul, 5 -6 hours later and realisation hits home after the perfect flight

Current problem at the moment seems that other than when on the ground, if I minimise the sim to do anything out of the cockpit, when I click on the taskbar to maximise FS9 it just closes not even a pop up error message or a by your leave!
