Red Tail 236

Post by DaveB »

I just love this old lady. Never cared much for the 300's or any of it's successors.

Making a gentle course change to 205 over LEAS enroute LHR-LISBON..

I would hazard a guess at one of the Transavia ones, leased in the late 70's. PH-TV???? probably D or E

The earliest i know of was PH-TVD which is down as delivered in Sep 1978 but one photo is dated Sep 1977

PH-TVH was in use during 1979

Those two at least were in ful livery but there were other Tansavia liveried examples with BA titles :)

PH-TVD is the earliest I know of too :)

Dan.. Sri for the cockup. I was over there quite recently and was sure that's where I'd got the model from. That said.. there are more versions of this model (the Erick Cantu model) flying around.. it could have been anywhere. It took me days to get one that fitted Ben Hartmann's paints! 8) Must have been the 727 I got *-)

EDIT.. yes.. it was the 727

Yes.. 11/77 wearing BA stickers. I'd have seen this earlier had I turned the page I was looking at

Here's DT at around FL110 over Lisbon airport on the way back home. I must check that SID sometime *-)

I quite like the bold 'British' titles but that aside, I prefer the 732 to the others because I think it looks proportionally correct. It didn't have huge dustbins under the wings and hadn't been stretched  Odd because I prefer the 1-11 500's to the 200/300/400 :)

Personally I always thought that the engine installation on the early 737s looked like an afterthought - "Gee Elmer, I'm sure we've forgotten something ..... oh damn!". :hide:
