Multiple Objects with the same name

Post by FZpete »

Hi guys,

I found and fixed the problem with the multiple objects with the same name issue.

Everytime I loaded up FSX I was faced with a dialogue box stating I had multiple objects with the same name, and I had to click ok lots of times to get it to go away. It came back the minute I went to choose an aircraft, with the same loads of clicks to get past it.

Apparently its the aircraft.cfg file, which has a line for each texture and is shown below :-

[fltsim.0]
title=FSDS3 HS748 British Airways Red Tail
sim=HS748
model=2A
panel=
sound=

The title for every texture had to be changed, to look like this :-

[fltsim.0]
title=British Airways Red Tail
model=2A
panel=
sound=

I had to remove the FSDS3 HS748 from each line for it to stop bringing up the dialogue box, all 56 of them! LOL

Anyhoo, its done and all is now well :welldone: :excited: :welldone:

:cheers: :party: :cheers:

Hope this helps others with the same problem.

Cheers

Pete

Hi Mate,

Thats because you have another one somewhere that has FSDS3 HS748 bit at the start. i.e. you haven't deleted the old instal. With FS aircraft you have to delete the folder from (in the case of FSX) the Simobjects\Airplane folder ;)

Spot on buddy,

The other version was still there! I know I deleted it before I put the propper one on, but I am scratching my head now!

Just had a look in the TBM folder, and can see nothing wrong there, apart from there are no files in the "effects" folder. Not sure whether this is to blame for non transparent windows or not.

Cheers

Pete
