Like Ben Hartmann, I'm quite taken by this program. I've no desire to move to FSX because my preferred aircraft are classic jetliners which are better served on FS9. As the best ones are freeware, spending a few quid on a global enhancement like this is a good investment. It's difficult to do it justice in small screenshots, but it doesn't stop us trying!
I've tried here to showcase the cloud shapes, water textures and sunset lighting. Also the runway and aircraft lighting have several different effects and strengths. You can see that I've chosen softer landing lights which are a great improvement over the default. I think it will be a long time before my favourite aircraft appear as native FSX models so it's great to have a new lease of life for FS9.
Yunno.. I thought for some strange reason this was freeware, then I twigged all the threads are in the payware forum
I have the previous (and free) incarnation.. REPro which doesn't do a bad job and I can see many of the textures have been carried on in this version which is a good thing in itself. I have recently sinned and bought payware for FSX and I expect the next purchase will also be for FSX.. the Aerosoft Catalina so for the time being, I'll remain content with REPro and enjoy the screenies you're all posting
Yes mate.. I'm cheap and cheerful.. OK, cheap anyway
Don't get me wrong.. I love the 'single' FS9 Ark albeit stationary at 4 points across the globe (5 if you have a-n-other) but this 'moving' stuff really works for me. I still think the rest of the sim is cr@p and the 'boats' (yawn) AI is far from perfect but it's definitely a leap over FS9 and worth playing with
