Color 1956, 10 minutes, high quality documentary with Canberras B-6, Valetta and Hastings for HM The Queen visit in Lagos.

Enjoy

Yes, Garry, Viking. I thought Valettas were a military version of the Viking, so I said valetta. I did not know that RAF had Viking , too..

The Valetta had freight/paradoors and roof glazing amongst other things
:)
There were a small number of Viking C2 for VIP transport and the King/Queens Flight

Channel Airways bought two for spares but there were in such good condition they converted them for airline service....G-APOO, G-APOP.:)

1956: I was serving in the RAF at that time - there were more than 40,000 of us then!!

A really enjoyable film.

Yep.. nice piece of film ;) The commentator actually says (twice) that the aircraft in question is a Viking and noting the reg (what's visible) it could be either VL246.. a VVIP (v v i p) Viking or 248 which was a C2 :)
