Server Outage

Post by TSR2 »

Hi All. The forum server was down for a while there while the Service Provider changed IP addresses. I think its sorted now, but may take a while for your DNS to update to the new address.

Ben,

I don't know if this is related, but I keep getting the following message when accessing threads:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Can't create a new thread (errno 12); if you are not out of available memory, you can consult the manual for a possible OS-dependent bug [1135]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

This has happened on my own computer at home, and also now on my work computer, so that eliminates any problems with my system.

It's probably not vital, but I thought I'd better bring it to your attention! :)

Best,
Myles

Hi Myles :hello:

No mate.. I'm seeing it too. We're at a situation where the server change by our ISP didn't go as completely as they'd have liked and they're still fiddling I think. It's pointless us trying to fix what may not be broken until we're certain they've finished what they're doing so expect a few bugs here and there for a while ;)

Guys & Gals,

The hosting provider is struggling to rectify the probelems we have encountered. I have been advised that it may take them 24 - 48 hours to do some detailed analysis and that I will be unavailable for most of this weekend. One option is to back everything up (again) and reinstall from fresh. Obviously this would take some time. For the mean time we'll let them have a go, but I have a sneaking suspicion I may need to resort to the last option.

This is just a heads up that the service may be offline over the coming 4 days, but we should be back to normal (one way or other) by mid next week.

Cheers

OK Chaps, Forum is back up. No email notifications etc yet and some of the links may not work, but that will need to wait until tomorrow evening ;)
