A few from Duxford

Hi folks

Went on my usual trip down to Duxford on Sunday and bagged around 1000 more photos. Instead of the usual 'in the air' shots, I thought I'd post a few from a different angle. Yes, there are still pics of aircraft where they're meant to be, but I've also included some ground shots. I've also tried to capture the audience / pilot participation, which seems so special to Duxford (maybe because they taxi so close).
Anyway, here are the pics (don't worry, not too many).....



















































Anyone get the feeling that I enjoyed the vintage jets?

Was there on the Saturday and thought Jonathon Whaley put in a superb display in the Hunter. He certainly seemed to be enjoying himself.

He certainly did put on a superb display!!!
Did you see his low pass with the canopy open? I had just changed my memory card, but had failed to format it. I managed about 5 shots of Jonathon Whaley waving through the open canopy, when I ran out of memory. I had to sacrifice those shots, in order to continue photographing
Never mind... Here's a pic of the man himself, earlier in the day - readying 'Miss Demeanour'.

Equipment as follows

Nikon D200
Nikkor 70-200 AF-S VR f2.8G
Nikkor 2X teleconverter

For the close up ground shots I used

Nikkor 18-70 AF-S f3.5-4.5G DX

Finally, can't believe that I forgot to add the following shot, after what I said about the audience / pilot communication. This one really sums it up.

You list your equipment, but although that helps, it has nothing to do with taking good shots.

Angle, cropping fresh ideas point of interest character...........all those thing make the difference between a photograph and a snap.

You have some cracking pic here ....the close ups of the pilots give so much interest for example even down to a tatty old ladder

Soft crowds in the forground also give the message of an event, an enjoyment en masse.

It doesn't matter what kit you have - there is always ample oportunity for a good photograph.

Get out there, get shooting and show us your results!
