Post by Nigel H-J »

I am in a dilemma, London Heathrow Airport.....Two choices....Aerosoft

Or

UK2000

Tried the UK2000 Demo and love it but heard that Aerosoft is good too... :doho: :brick:

In all honesty Nigel.. it's a matter of personal choice. The Aerosoft package has darker, more crisp textures giving the entire airport a 'Brand New' look. It has more buildings outside the airport (particularly to the north) and isn't bad on framerates. UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme has slightly lighter, less crisp textures which give the airport more of a used look. It has slightly less buildings to the north of the airport, has trendy cars/buses/coaches that intelligently appear when you're in the right proximity and for me.. it is slightly better on frames.

I have both and prefer UK2000 (though I was democratic enough not to say that over at Aerosoft a week or so ago when someone over there asked the question.. Which one is best??) :o :brick: This is not to say that the Aerosoft pack is poor.. far from it. It's an excellent, superbly detailed bit of kit. I just prefer the more 'used' look of Gary Summons version and enjoy slightly better frames with it ;-)

Thanks Dave, then it will be UK2000 for me, no demo for Aerosoft Heathrow so one good think about Gary's software is that you can try before you buy :welldone:

There is always the thought that goes round your head saying "Wonder if I should have got the other one!!" That's the reason I asked!!

Many thanks Dave.

Nigel.

You're welcome Nigel ;-)

I'm not sure if Gary's product was available when Aerosoft released theirs so the same nagging question lay heavy with me when it went on sale  I've been so impressed with the Xtreme series starting with Glasgow then Edinburgh.. I went mad one day and bought Stansted closely followed by Gatwick (I already had the OSS version), Brum, Bristol then some time later.. Heathrow and finally, Aldergrove. I think that covers all of them now  What's more.. I can't wait for his next release :cpu:

I'm just disappointed that Liverpool got struck off the list :(
I understand the reasons however.
