Assigning Keystrokes....?

Post by Techy111 »

Hi folks....question here....how do i assign a keystroke to the joystick if the event is not shown in the FSX assignment listing...?

For example the Iris Vulcan has a drogue chute button in the VC but no assignment for this...is there some way to do this in FSUIPC...?

Have not got the foggiest idea how to do this if its possible...?

How would i find the action to assign a button for it...?

Good question. It's essentially a custom animation so there won't be an FSX command to trigger it.

I'm not sure if FSUIPC can help as I don't use it myself, I think it should be possible to write a simconnect client program to take care of it but you'd need to know the name of the variable that the control commands.

If you're having problems with the tail 'chute in the Vulcan, try the wing fold assignment. That's the one that it's assigned to, but it'll only deploy above 40kts.

It wasn't originally, it was simply the final stage of 'flap', but when the VC was being finished off that's where it got put ;-)

With the IRIS Vulcan, it highly advised that users dont use the keyboard shortcuts, just like the F-14, it does not always work or not at all... Its worth the try though...
