Nooooo .... Those glorious mountains are crying out for JT-8Ds ... and here they come!
This looks like Boeing Country to me, Jim and Juneau would be a very good base for my Alaska Airlines aircraft. So I might just have to install Glacier Bay over the weekend, despite my desire to keep my installation as simple as possible. And then I suppose I'll have to find some Anchorage scenery as well - as that was perhaps my favourite stopover in the 70s.
It is very easy to see that you don't have Glacier Bay v2 installed yet as those mountains in your shot look very "default"...GBv2 will bring them to exhilarating life :flying:
OK, chaps. I bribed the memsahib with a bacon sandwich and a promise do do some housework tomorrow GLBv2 is installed and the first flight was a white-knuckle sightseeing trip from Juneau in the 727-200Advc. Eddie - tons of unburnt hydrocarbons to despoil the pristine wilderness, but all in a good cause
I managed the interesting approach to Juneau OK but I've had to censor any screenshots of the landing. The smoke trail on finals shows the curved approach nicely. Thanks for nagging me to get this scenery Jim and Peter. I suppose I'll have to get something small to explore it in ...

Yes indeed Ian...Much better...BTW don't forget there is a Freeze/Unfreeze facility there somewhere, for your rivers and lakes (the glaciers remain frozen).

Yes I found that, thanks Peter and I found a little something with an ethnic flavour to go sightseeing in! Nobody mentioned animated seagulls or glaciers with little icebergs :o

You've obviously not been up near Russell Fjord Ian

Oooh - that sounds intriguing I've been a bit busy this afternoon. I wasn't happy that Juneau has an ILS with no glide slope. I suppose it's possible that it hasn't in real life but it makes a difficult approach even harder. So I fired up Afcad and added one while no-one was looking - much better now!
And I need somewhere to fly my short haul jets, so I found a freeware Anchorage International which I've installed. Now I shall have to find Russell Fjord and then do a proper flight up to Anchorage for some R and R. The best strip clubs in the world were at Anchorage in the 70s and 80s but when somebody decided to invent long range aircraft they took away our reason for stopping there. When I find who's responsible, they've got a lot of explaining to do!
