Joystick Woes

Post by Nigel H-J »

Have a Logitech Exreme 3D Pro joystick and have recently found that when making a turn the aircraft continues to fly straight even with the stick right over then the a/c will suddenly make the turn. Went into Control Panel and Game Controllers, tried the settings there and the Joystick is as smooth as silk when moving around.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? Don't have it set up for any other games - just FS, this problem has just come up with no reason at all. Quite frustrating as when I try to turn finals the a/c just continues on then suddenly makes the turn. :doho: :brick:

Have tried various USB Ports but still the same.

Just wonder whether any settings in FS have become corrupt?

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nige ;-)

Have you tried calibrating the stick through FS....options...settings...?

Not sure it would make a difference but worth a try :dunno:

Hi Derek, tried that but to no avail, wonder if the FS cfg needs rebuilding? :dunno:

Hi Nigel..

I've had this problem albeit infrequently for years. The best way to cure it immediately is to remove the stick from the pc.. wait for the ding-dong.. and put it back again. When you hear the ding-dong.. you'll be running fine. Works every time ;-)
You can recalibrate it til the cows come home and it'll have no effect. Disconnect then reconnect :)

EDIT.. Ooo.. read your post again. Are you saying it won't work after trying other ports??

Hi Dave, tried other ports before loading FS9 so will try what you said and disconnect whilst in FS then re-connect, may very well be the answer, many thanks, will let you know.

Okey doh mate ;-)

When mine has done this before, it's only been one side.. eg, I can turn to the right but not to the left. All other functions/axis have worked ok but as you say.. it usually happens on finals which is not helpful
