Me again...

Post by tonymadge »

Asus P5Q PRO is a board I am looking at and the E8600 or E8500 depending on cost, I know I have bored you all silly about this but one question the Asus P5Q PRO shows it is ATI Crossfire suitable, now I have a Nvidia video card will it work on that board or is it better to try another board?? any suggestions welcome, looking at around £110 for the board and seen the e8600 as low as £180
cheers Tony

Hi Tony..

I can't see you having a problem with your nvidia card on that mobo.. just that it is able to take advantage of ATI's Crossfire where some may not ;-) Not seen a mobo yet that is restricted to one particular brand of graphics card.

Nvidia card will work but don't try and get two of them going in SLI on a Xfire board though.

I don't know it's price, but ASUS are advertising their new P6T Delux motherboard as supporting both Crossfire and SLI.

EDIT - just looked on the ASUS website, and they're bloomin expensive (~£270)!

The Asus P6T Deluxe was $300 when I got mine. I got the The Intel i7 920 for only $269. I'm very happy with my new computer!
