Part of a current project that'll see the light of day at some point

There are a couple of things I'm not sure of yet :think:

This Halifax Mk8 was actually entered in the 1950 Southend Air Race :o

Ohhhh well done that man! I've never been a fan of the rather lurid LAMS and Vingtor paint schemes, authentic though they may be. That one is far more austere-1950s and interesting. Are you going to do a non air-race one, Dave ?

Hi Paul

Certainly mate ;-) I did the basic livery first then added the race roundels later. I need a little more info on the wing reg positioning as thus far.. 100% of all pics show it from the LH side from ground level and from that, I know my lower reg is in the wrong place. I have shots to complete at least another 2 LAC and more info will be on the way tomorrow morning

It's only when you start painting these things that you realise just how poor/wrong some models can be and the Halifax/Halton is no exception. It has the wrong number of windows and they're ALL in the wrong place so making paints fit exactly to match a shot is impossible :roll: Never mind.. it looks pretty much how it should ;-)
So far, I've done LAMS AHZJ, AIWJ, AIWK, AIWR, AIWT and AHZO..BOAC AHDR, AHDP and AHDN.. Eagle ALEF and for LAC AKEC.. eleven in all with more to come ;-)

And thats a fact mate ;-) I have Paul Edwards looking at the FD for me and he's already made good progress

The end result should be pleasingly better in all respects ;-)

Here's AKEC minus racing numbers. I have the reg's sorted ;-) Side reg was smaller than the norm on EC and LAC fuse titles were upper and lower case which differs from some other aircraft ;-)
