Look like you chaps had fun guessing Pete's photo. Here's no fewer than three locations from me. Should be easy enough. The last one isnt a trick, the aircraft was on finals at the time of the mishap and the pilot did survive before anyone asks!
Location1:
Location2:
Location3:

3. Hatfield

Hatfield is the third IIRC.
The first is a tough one. Looks like it could be a very undeveloped Hawarden, but on the other hand, blatantly isn't.

Told you this was easy, It is indeed George Aird parting company with a Lightning on finals to Hatfield after a fire in the tail caused the control surfaces. First one isn't Hawarden though!

Oh my word - how obvious! That'll be the midland main line on the right, and if the same photo was taken now, the airfield is a gravel pit, and the M25 would run across the foreground.
Radlett?!

Come to think of it the pit had been filled in when I went past on a train a couple of years back. The site was surrounded by Lafarge (or similar company) signs though.
Such a shame that of the London factory airfields, only Wisley exists in any form of a airfield now.
