Look like you chaps had fun guessing Pete's photo. Here's no fewer than three locations from me. Should be easy enough. The last one isnt a trick, the aircraft was on finals at the time of the mishap and the pilot did survive before anyone asks!
Told you this was easy, It is indeed George Aird parting company with a Lightning on finals to Hatfield after a fire in the tail caused the control surfaces. First one isn't Hawarden though!
Oh my word - how obvious! That'll be the midland main line on the right, and if the same photo was taken now, the airfield is a gravel pit, and the M25 would run across the foreground.

Come to think of it the pit had been filled in when I went past on a train a couple of years back. The site was surrounded by Lafarge (or similar company) signs though.
Such a shame that of the London factory airfields, only Wisley exists in any form of a airfield now.
