Dreamfleet 727 | recommendable?

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of buying the Dreamfleet 727 as a XMas gift for myself!

Can anyone recommend that patch and does it keep the promises made on their website?
The screenshots look superb though... :tonqe:

No idea bout the patch I'm afraid. I bought the DF 727 knowing that I'd probably never fly the darned thing and this is what happened (so I wasn't disappointed) Needless to say, my version isn't patched in any shape or form :roll:

From what I can remember.. it is a smashing model, as you'd expect from DF.. but it hit frames pretty hard on my XP3200 system. The frame hit is about the only negative thing I can think of to say about it but it's been a long time since I've opened it up ;-)

Being cheap I would say that the Vistaliner 100 and 200 with either the Probst or Mitchell Panels and a good JT8D sound set are as good as the
DF aircraft and alot easier on frame rates -- oh yes and Free too

But thats just Skinflint me

I'm not aware of a "Patch" but the "Service Pack" is actually Version 2 with many improvements...I use Version 2 and highly recommend it. This is another very realistic model where the Autopilot is correctly modelled to work exactly like the real aircraft. In fact all the systems work exactly like the real aircraft. So if you are looking for something very simple then don't go there. If you are looking for a real aircraft simulation then yes, buy it. Another extremely well thought of aspect of this model is it's superb manual handling...It sits up there with the "Greats" on the feel and handling from the stick...Think Davids Trident and MAAM DC3. Needless to say the aircraft comes with an excellent manual and a slightly steep learning curve but I highly recommend it.

One note of caution, the model as it comes is not suitable for operation as AI Traffic...However, I have built a special AI version with a dozen liveries and three of the models. If you buy the Dreamfleet 727 I can prepare a download that will create the AI version but without the three models...You would have to copy over the models from your Dreamfleet product in order to activate my AI version. You can PM me to request this sometime in the future when you have bought the product and wish to use it for some Traffic. :flying:

I'm trying to do that too .... in plural form .... i.e. early and late versions .... non-HK and HK.

But .... with everything else on the go at the moment it's going to take a while.

How does this compare to the 727 published by Just Flight?I originally bought this and installed it in FS 2002 but didn't get much chance to use before my pc went base over apex!Having repaced the pc a couple of years ago and installing FS9,I never got round to reinstalling the 727 and TBH since then most of my virtual 'iron instrument' airliner flying has been on DM's superb 1-11 which I love.I would be interested to receive any first hand comparisons of the two 727 versions.EricT

Well I tend to take those sort of statements as a bit of a challenge...So I've offloaded all my freight and most of my fuel and here goes my attempt at a delivery of my answer
