HMS Ark Royal in 1963 Far east and Coming Home...

Post by sketchy74 »

Hi All,

Once again time to bother you with a collection of clips about the HMS Ark Royal. This time a bunch of fantastic videos taken on what looks like CineFilm although feel free to correct me on that one.

This first one is great for images of Scimiters, Sea Vixens, Gannets and a Whirlwind and images of Singapore....

This one is mostly a run ashore in Aden but has some great footage of a RAS taking place and what looks like a crossing the line ceremony and the best bit a Sea Vixen trapping into the emergency Barrier, great footage.

This final one is mostly just images viewed from the ship, but has some nice footage of her sailing through the Suez Canal, ending up with an image of Plymouth Hoe.

I enjoyed them, but then again I am fascinated with this period of British History that I never lived through! I hope some of you enjoy them also.

Sketchy.
