Practice makes perfect?

Post by forthbridge »

Been doing a few practice landings in the Trident around Skagway. I think I'm getting a little more used to this particular machine...

Odd bit of green tire smoke there Jim. I take it not many aircraft land there and the runway is covered in moss! ;-)

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

Yeah - no idea why, but it's green on the recording! Maybe moss from the tyres, as it's been sitting since I installed it unused...... ;-)

Blimey I wouldn't fancy taking a Trident into Skag

I realised that Jonesey.. this was where I came to a stop...... :worried:

I suspect the discs on Peters' Smart are more effective than the Trident's wheelbrakes..... ;-)

Why I do these things....?

And Just for Dave and the Green smoke brigade.... it was not a fluke.... :dunno:

I don't think Bealine's SOPs envisaged a rate of descent of more than 1,000 fpm at a radio height of about 70feet!

Strangely, just doing some more screenies at another location. Looked at the instruments as I hit printscreen, and th A/C was at 1700 ft, 148 kts, descending at 600fpm - and the bl**dy screenshot (in cockpit) shows 158knots, 700 feet and 1500fpm descent rate!! :o

Even I am not that mad!

Yeh.. Ok Jim ;-)

I've a feeling the green smoke is a consequence of your environment bmp's. I noticed a couple of your C1K shot's showed the aircraft had a greeny/yellowy (is that a word!?? :o .. maybe yellowey.. nah.. that doesn't look right either) hue. Are your env.bmp's originals or do you have an addon??

All originals Dave....

TBH, I've not slavishly looked at *colour* in FS - but in saying that the green in the Skag shots depends on the angle - front/behind, yes, although a side on zoomed shot looks pretty normal :dunno:

Just looking, the tailfin red on the Trident looks a little warm....

Odd - because my monitor is spot on - after processing about 10,000 Raw images, I know about colour...

I think this needs further investigation!
