Shuttle De-orbit Burn...

Post by petermcleland »

...is at 15:10 BST today Sat 14th June 2008. Landing of the hot glider will be about 1 hour 5 mins later. I always enjoy this hour long dramatic ride and if you want to watch then look here:-

I use the "other viewing options" and select Windows Media Player...Well that takes care of the rest of my day...No time for FS :dancer:

Thanks for the heads up Peter. Slightly surreal watching the HUD camera from the shuttle live from the other side of the Atlantic on the internet!

Indeed, still an amazing thing to watch. Highly tense every single time :flying:

Here's an archived video of today's landing, for all who missed it.

They make it look so easy, don't they?

Yeah, that cover was certainly whistling along at a pace...Would have killed anyone in the way. I didn't see any crew along its path though. It stopped near some piece of kit on the far side of the runway.

Yes, so it is Leif...Can't quite make out whether it stopped the cover, or whether the cover dug into the ground and stopped itself :worried:
