When I was an active modeller I never could understand why someone would spend thousands on building a model like that 190, then ruin the look with something daft like that tailwheel! Nearly all the others could be mistaken for the real aircraft, but that ruins the 190 completely!

A very good point. Another problem with that particular model is that the pilot is simply too tall, looks very out of proportion for the model. The only model aircraft I respect are scale that are done to the right standard like these.

It really is remarkable. You'll be interested to know, the pilot Steve Rickett is actually a fellow pilot of yours, although he's on civilian airliners. Explains why it was flown so well and without doing any silly maneuvers. :flying:

IIRC he isn't too much older either - I remember reading a letting into one of the model magazines in the early 90s with one of his earlier, smaller models!
