Cessna Citation Crashes Into Houses

Post by Garry Russell »

Breaking news

No pointless unfactual speculation please

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7321589.stm

No news of any casualties at time of writing but obviously there will be tragedy here and thoughts are with those involved

From the TV updates it appears no one was hurt on the ground as the hose occupants are on holiday

Two pilots and three pax pn the Cessna 501

From the helipcopter pics which are quite close in there appears to be little, if anything left of the aircraft.

One house clipped with roof on fire and one part hit and set on fire.

My condolences. Thankfully, as you say Garry, looks like no-one was hurt on the ground - could have been a lot worse.

Looks like it had taken off on runway 21, gone round and, as another pilot had said, was on finals for 21, just a couple of miles short of the threshold.

It did annoy me though, when I heard someone say, as they always do: "This was an accident waiting to happen." :brick:

I hope that this doesn't sound heartless, but I wonder how the owners of the stricken house will stand in terms of insurance.Could be time for them to read the small print. As for the families of the victims, one can only feel for their great loss. :'( EricT

I find the post which introduced this thread rather curious. The whole effect of posting the news of this tragic occurrence will, human nature being what it is, to promote speculation. I did think the poster might have known better

I don't see any evidence of speculation Chris (or Christopher as you're being serious) so I don't really see the need for your post either  If there IS or has been any speculative post, please point out where it was made.
