Horizon GenerationX updates

Post by Sl4yer »

Hi all.

I haven't seen it mentioned on here yet, so here goes...

The first water mask update for the Horizon GenerationX VFR series has now been released for registered users. It covers Area 3 of Volume 1, which includes London and Kent. You'll need some determination because the download is about 7.6GB! It's a torrent only at present, but there should be plenty of seeds now. DVDs will follow 'soon', which could be well over a year using Horizon's calendar...

Looks nice though:

Cheers James.

I don't use torrents, so if anyone manages to download it all, I'll gladly pay for a DVD and postage. :)

Hi,

Not a keen user of torrents and reading the support forum, a lot of folk are getting long estimated downtimes. They say that they will wait until all volumes have been updated and will then provide free upgrade DVD or a recompiled volume 'at cost' for those that want.

Hi Ben,

Trying to be helpful, I tried to download it for you, prepared to put it on disc.

However, not haveing the dreaded "X" or purchased the original, I lucked out 'cause I do not therefore have the necessary purchase details.

Sorry,

The torrent was appalling to start with, because Horizon were the only seed (and that using a domestic internet connection!). Things will be much faster now.

Mine installed without any issues - some have had problems because the torrent client was still running, or because of a non-standard install.

Tony, remastered discs (with the nightlighting and water masks, and maybe even installers that work and a Lake District that isn't flooded!) will be released once the updates are complete. Hold off until then!

Cheers Graham,

I'll hang fire until they have it on DVD and I'll give them a few quid for it.

Appreciate you help. Thanks very much. :)

Whatever happened to the night-time version (on the box, but pulled in the read-me)! I have been a registered user since Dec 2006 and have never had any notification at all of any updates. They seem a total shower to me :bandit:
