Back in Business

Post by fighterpilot »

Hopefully now that i have regained an internet connection to my flightsim PC i hope to be able to resume flynet operations again. I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. Have there been any changes etc to the process before i dive into a flight and make a mess of it?

Hi Richard :)

Nice to have you back ;-)

Don't think much has changed as far as FlyNET is concerned. We've been threatened with a new client over the past couple of weeks but remain on the one we've been using since hell knows when. Make sure your's is the latest by downloading the current version off the main page (if in doubt) ;-)

You can now buy useless stuff with your virtual dollars.. a choice of cars.. houses.. boats.. hi-fi's.. watches e t c though why anyone would want to is beyond me  Client operates in exactly the same way so no prob there.

We've introduced a 'current' type rating system whereby you're expected to keep your TR's up to date. This basically means at least one flight on a type in 12months so shouldn't be too difficult to achieve. Pilots who've let a TR lapse can get it back again by doing 2 'training flights' (these have no consequence on the VA so if you're gonna crash.. do it on a training flight)!! For experienced pilots who want a new TR.. you do a '4 block' set of flights and on completion, you're TR is awarded.. as long as all four flights haven't gone to rats!. John has posted about this in great detail under it's own thread so if in doubt.. check that post ;-)
