Piston Aircraft

Post by simondix »

Just been looking through a few of the old posts. A couple of questions. Is CBFS ever going to go back prewar to Imperial Airways and beyond eg Daimler and HP etc. Are there any plans for aircraft like the Hermes post war ie WW2.

Hi Simon,

We actually looked at the Hermes some time ago and decided that the 'package' (as a whole) wasn't, perhaps, up to what we were looking for. It's better for us to be able to take something 'off the shelf' and use it without having to re-invent the wheel and we felt a little re-inventing was required. It's certainly not been discounted though ;-) In the meantime, you might like to look at the Argonaut which has an extensive route network :)

Pre-war..
Well, I've been canvasing for the HP42 for as long as I can remember and I'm sure that it will come in the fullness of time. I think we have sufficient route info for it.. it's just a matter of sorting it out and where the HP 42 will sit in the grand scale of things. With a top whack of little over 100mph, all HP42 flights can be considered medium to longhaul which isn't a problem for pilots using a speed multiplier but is for those of us who go everywhere at x1. Regardless, that alone shouldn't stop it being introduced and as I said earlier, I'm sure it will be at some point ;-) We're constantly trying to 'streamline' the airline and improve it so it's also a matter of priorities. As an example, the recently released VA Vanguard package has taken us 5 weeks to put together and it's route structure still isn't finished :o

Hi Simon

The Hermes is one I may well get on to eventually :worried: if no one else does

I still have the Freighter and Britannia to make for the requred routes now but there is always room for expansion with existing or new models..............but also there is a demoand to keep up to date with existing types as well :)

Just a case of time really :)
