Viscount 3D-PFI

Post by Garry Russell »

Just done a "now and then" search on surviving Viscounts and the former G-AOHV last reported as 3D-PFI was seen in July last year in operational condition. :dancer:

Now confirmed as 9Q-COD it is operated by FARDC (Forces Armées de la Republic Democratic du Congo) and operational status is reported as 'current'...or at least was then.

The 700 that was a possible candate is complete but in poor condition :-(

The former G-APEY is confirmed as scrapped. :'(

Cheers for the update Garry. I could'nt find anything about her after numerous attempts searching & googling last year. If she is still flying then it would be great if any footage popped up on youtube. Somehow I doubt that though. :-(

Hi Eddie

I was only sucessful last night.not much comes out of that part of Africa.

If she only operates within the Congo I doubt if it will ever been recorded. :-(

Our best hope is that she reappears in another country but there won't be many that would allow her to fly over their territory.

Maybe one day :)
