blurries back and DXT textures taking a while to load?

Post by tonymadge »

New 8600GT card fitted and all working well, anyway just a thought ... I noticed that if the aircraft has DXT textures they load a lot slower than normal 32 bit ones... so I get a plane with a couple of 32 bit textures showing and a few seconds later the rest pops in (on first view only, not everytime)
So is there a setting in my cfg I can tweak to get the textures to load quicker?? I have a decent video card with 256Mb DDR3 ram so it should cope well..
oh and the blurries are back!!!!
Cheers xsmile

More like

if theres a bill
then you pay

seems FS wants me to spend more money but at least I know my kit is up to the task so it must be something in the inards of FS that wants tweaking xwink

Ok blurries are still there hence a new thread re causes.
The DXT issue, well a friend stated that by enabling mips in aircraft cures this I have mipped one plane and true enough it seems to cure it!! sadly I have hundreds of aircraft and mipping them all is a year long task, wonder if you can download a mipp everything in one go utility?

Thanks guys I have downloaded it and it will save time even if I have to do each plane one at a time, it still saves time. Now the next quest is to cure blurries.... I fear a reinstall of FS but dread that... Also I have read in other threads this does not cure it always.. oh what to do :dunno:
